D.V.G.T.'s First Tournament
Updated: May 11, 2019
The start of hopefully many annual veteran golf tournaments
Our first tournament was at the Lakeville Country Club in August of 2018. With no idea whether or not it would be a success, the organizers of the tournament were hopeful that their chosen charities would attract a lot of people who want to help and have fun golfing.
“It was an unforgettable tournament. It's a good feeling to help those in the veteran community and have fun while doing it. Looking forward for next year!” Golf Tournament Participant
Chosen Charities in 2018
The proceeds were split between two families that were identified and were in need of assistance.
Sergeant Sean Gannon, 32 year old Yarmouth K9 Police Officer who was killed in action 4-12-2018. Proceeds will be going to his wife Dara to support her in these times.
Luis Enrique Reyes Junior, 3 year old boy who was recently diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia, family member of a member of a Massachusetts law enforcement professional and a 2 tour combat veteran.
By the end of the event, the organizers already had participants asking about when the next tournament would be.
